Michael’s responsibilities encompass medical information, scientific communication and education, collaborative data generation and Celgene-sponsored studies operated by Medical Affairs across Celgene’s Hematology and Oncology franchises in the EMEA region.
Michael joined Celgene from GSK, where he was the Franchise Medical Head for Immuno-Inflammation and Infectious diseases. Michael brings with him a significant amount of experience and knowledge in Hematology & Oncology. Before joining the industry, he served for several years as a surgeon in General, Orthopaedic and Cardiothoracic Surgery in the UK, as well as in General, Vascular Surgery and Surgical Oncology in Germany.
Michael qualified as a medical doctor at the Free University of Berlin, and is registered in Germany and the UK as a physician. He also holds a Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and a MBA from the Open University, UK. Michael is a fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Physicians and of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, as well as of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
